Check in was quick and easy, and the General Manager was friendly and welcoming. The rooms are nice and updated. A hot breakfast is included in the rate. We were able to park our truck and small uhaul trailer in the parking lot with no problems, so this is the best alternative to staying in the city. It's only about 15-20 minutes from downtown St Louis, and conveniently right off of I70. There are a few fast food restaurants, convenience store and Dennys within walking distance. It's a bit expensive for the location, but a good value overall.
This Fairfield Inn & Suites is top notch. Very modern and clean. We stayed in a double queen suite and it was incredibly roomy.
After a long day at a funeral, I stopped here to rest for the night. The front desk clerk was great, the hotel was beautiful, and clean. I was looking forward to staying the night. TV didn't work, so I called downstairs and was told she would send maintenance man. I declined, I went downstairs and gave her key and asked her to have maintenance man fix while I was out of room. Here's the thing, I travel for a living so for safety and for moral reasons, I did not feel comfortable at the thought of being in a room alone with a stranger, regardless of who the stranger is. Now maintenance guy walks buy and I assume she told him this, because he said really loudly and angrily is she prejudiced, and she looked down. To me that was an oh dayum look down. I asked her as he went outside was he asking that of me, she said no he was talking about something else. Too coincidental, not to mention the oh dayum look. I kindly asked for a refund and left. I refuse to help pay a salary for this person. Even if I was racist, (the word I think he meant, I'm white, he was black). I was not rude to you, I did not disrespect you, etc. Do your job, period!!! Not that I owe anyone an explanation, but I'm married into an interracial relationship. I have biracial children. I have Marriott Rewards, Marriott has not lost a customer, because again, I travel for a living, but I will think twice before I choose this location, especially if I have other options. No time for negativity near me. This was a big inconvenience, not only did I go elsewhere, but my charge was not automatically reversed, good thing I have access to other funds.
We were here for a week. My only complaint was the fridge froze our milk (glass jar) and made a mess! Other than that, stay was nice....breakfast offers gluten free options, and a good variety. Staff was mostly friendly. Guests, not so much, but how do you control that? I can't ding the hotel for that!!!! Pool is a little small, but hot tub made up for it.
Looks like a new building. Everything was in excellent shape. The service was very friendly. Bathroom fixtures looked brand new - clean and spotless. Refrigerator and microwave in room, free hot breakfast (eggs, sausages, cheese omelet, wakes, cereal, muffins, bagels, fruit - take your picks). Comfortable beds and pillows. Quiet rooms and location. I enjoyed my stay.
